The evening worship
time at Canaan began as a way
to provide the Sunday message to those who couldn't make the
regular morning worship due to schedule, health issues, or some
other concern. It was basically, a cross between an adult
small-groups meeting and a sermon.
Since we began, we have
found that the dynamic changed as more people from morning worship returned.
Since they had time to process the morning message, our
discussion evolved into a two-way dialogue where participants brought
questions to the pastor on points of the sermon, and the pastor was able
to ask questions to stimulate a deeper level of thought.
The result is two-fold;
And after all, that's what
it's really about-- doing.
Sunday evenings at 7 pm are
casual. In our evening gathering we have only one objective;
deeper discussion in
the Biblical message God has given for that week.
